Judith S.Greene, 82, passed away on July 16th, in Spring Hill, Florida. Our beloved Judy was loved and adored by all. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on April 15, 1932. She graduated Midwood High School and received her Bachelor's Degree from Brooklyn College. Moving to Miami in 1951, she earned her Master's Degree from the University of Miami and her Ed.D degree from Southeastern Nova University. She retired after 30 years from the Dade County Public School System as an Area Director of Secondary Schools and also earned the distinction of being the first woman Senior High School principal in Dade County at Miami Edison Senior High School in 1973. Judy was a lay Rabbi at Mountain Synagogue in Franklin, NC for over a decade and her sermons inspired those who attended. She is survived by her loving husband and soul mate of 62 years, Mel Greene; daughter, Debbie Greene Koenig (Bill) of Spring Hill, Fl; son, Daniel J. Greene (LaGena) of Charlotte, N. Carolina. Since 1971, Judy, Mel and the children have enjoyed summers in Robbinsville on beautiful Lake Santeetlah. Swimming, cooking out and watching the sunsets were some of her favorite pastimes. Judy was President of the Thunderbird Homeowners Association in 2011. She will be greatly missed and always in our hearts. Interment took place at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on July 21st, 2014.
