County hires Health Director
Elizabeth “Beth” Booth is trading the seashore for the mountains and coming to Robbinsville as Graham County’s next Health Dept. Director.
Booth is presently the WIC Director at the Craven County Health Dept. The registered dietitian from Beaufort, North Carolina will take over the Graham County Health Dept. during the first week of November.
County Manager Becky Garland was appointed interim Health Dept. director shortly after Alicia Parham resigned.
“Elizabeth comes to us with a Master’s in Public Health and has several years experience in supervision and work in public health,” Garland said. “Beth did some graduate studies at WCU and an internship in this area, and she and her family have been trying to relocate to our area for several years.”
Booth, who earned her degree from Walden University, has been Craven County’s nutrition program director for nearly seven-and-a-half years. She oversees a caseload of nearly 4,000 people.
She has also worked as a nutritionist and clinical dietitian.
