Bessie Jordan Tackett
Bessie Jordan Tackett, 93, of the Ryefield Community in Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord early Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 at her residence.
A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Jeff and Mae Williams Jordan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenny Tackett; her sisters, Flossie Braden and Betty Millsaps; and her brothers, Pat Jordan and Boyd Jordan.
Bessie was a remarkable lady. She loved spending time raising her garden and working around her home. Upon meeting Bessie, you would find that she had stolen a piece of your heart. She had a caring spirit about her. It would be difficult to count all of the people she has welcomed into her home to share a meal or just a cup of coffee. She will always be remembered for her kindness and her smile.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Sue and Leonard Waldroup, of Robbinsville; and her five granddaughters, Charlene Wood, Vicie Crisp, Hope Waldroup, Cecilee Ashe, and Kammi Smith. She also has 8 great grandchildren, Tate Thomason, Stacey Burchfield, Kylie Brown, Violet Crisp, Bradyn Smith, Kiersten Ashe, Kolbie Smith, and Kenzie Ashe.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Reverend Scott Roper officiated. Burial followed at Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 12 - 2 p.m. at the Chapel, prior to the service.
Townson-Smith Funeral Home was honored to be serving the Jordan family. An online register is available at www.townson-smithfunerahome.com.
