Richard Lee "Pappy" Davis
Pastor Richard Lee Davis, “Pappy”, age 70 of Robbinsville, NC, finished his course here on earth on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Valley View Care Center in Andrews, NC. Richard preached the gospel for 50 years of his life. He was the son of the late Posey and Della Williams Davis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Wilma Cutshaw Davis.
He is survived by his three children, Matthew Davis and his wife Cindy, of Cartersville, GA, Richard Reece and his wife, Kibby, of Plant City, FL, and Glenda Reece of Robbinsville; his brothers and sisters in law, Louie and Shirley Davis, and Rick and Sara Davis, all of Robbinsville; his sister, Jane Collis of Robbinsville; his brothers in law and their wives, Johnnie and Francis Cutshaw of Thomasville, Lenny and Shirley Cutshaw, and Joel and Juanita Cutshaw, all of Andrews; and his sisters in law and their husbands, Leta and Bill Grubbe, and Margaret and Steve Wyke, all of Andrews. He has four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, at the Townson-Smith Chapel. Pastor L.B. Adams officiated. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel, prior to the service. Committal services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 31, at Marvin F. Cutshaw Cemetery in Andrews. Pallbearers will be Rick Davis, Louie Davis, Ancel Davis, Bill Grubbe, Joel Cutshaw, and Lenny Cutshaw. Those serving as honorary pallbearers are Posey Adams, James Phillips, and Eric Byrd.
