Carolyn Deyton Crisp, 72, of the Tuskeegee community in Robbinsville, N.C., died peacefully, Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at home, after a battle with liver cancer.

She was a native of Robbinsville, a graduate of Robbinsville High School and a member of Tuskeegee Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of Colleen Deyton and the late Posey Deyton of Robbinsville.

In addition to her mother, Carolyn is survived by her husband, Lowell Crisp, of the Tuskeegee community; her daughter, Tracy Crisp Hyde, of Robbinsville; granddaughter, Shelby Anderson and husband, Blake, of Robbinsville; grandson, Camden Hyde, a senior at Western Carolina University; a very special great-grandson, Dallas Anderson; one brother, Randall Deyton and his wife, Linda, of Robbinsville; and several nieces and nephews, of which she was very fond.

Carolyn’s grandchildren knew they were very special to her. Her life centered around loving and caring for them, and helping whenever and wherever there was a need. In her care for them – at an early age – she started reading them bible stories about her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A public graveside service will be held at the Breedlove Cemetery in the Tuskeegee community at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2021. The Rev. Larry Grindstaff will officiate and the grandchildren – Shelby and Camden – will each be delivering a eulogy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Carolyn’s memory to: Tuskeegee Baptist Church Women’s Sunday School Class 2737 Fontana Road , Fontana Dam, NC 28733.
