Jack Edward McCray, 68 of the Massey Branch community of Robbinsville, N.C., passed away, Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Robbinsville, N.C.

He was a native of Clay County, N.C. and the son of the late Nathan and Inez Canup McCray.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his seven siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Jenkins McCray; daughters, Amy Carrier of Waynesburg, Ky., Jessica McCray of Andrews, N.C. and Emily James of Duluth, Minn.; son, Jack E. McCray II, of Murphy, N.C.; stepson, Issac Lewis of Raleigh, N.C.; brothers, Tommy McCray of Robbinsville, N.C., Jimmy McCray of Hayesville, N.C. and Ken Canup of Columbus, Ga.; and sisters, Jennifer Stroud of Hayesville, N.C., and Conda Byers of Hayesville, N.C.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2022, at the Townson-Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

The Revs. Kevin Crane, Coy Adams and William Wayne Adams officiated.

Burial followed at New Hope Cemetery.

The family received friends from noon – 1 p.m. at the chapel, prior to the service.

Townson-Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
