James Dillard Hooper, Sr., 81 of Andrews, N.C. passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2022.

He was the son of the late John Benjamin and Laura Thompson Hooper. James had worked at Stanley Furniture.

He was an amazing father and grandfather, loved time with his family, loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed puzzle books and coloring.

James was a member of the Red Marble Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Hooper; and two sisters, Opal Postell and Laquita Waldroup.

Surviving are three sons, James Hooper, Jr. and wife Lesia, Jamie Edward Hooper, and Brandon Lee Hooper and wife Crystal; two daughters, Tina Searcy and husband Allen, and Tammy Rivenbark and husband David; two brothers, Richard Hooper and Johnny Hooper; a sister, Mary Ruth Eastwood; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services wereheld at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at Red Marble Baptist Church in Andrews, N.C. The Revs. Mickey Stewart, Daniel Stewart and Dwight Reed officiated.

Interment was in the Carver Cemetery in Robbinsville, N.C. Pallbearers were James, Kaseson, Brandon and Dalton Hooper, Allen Searcy, Gage Horchler, Elijah Morgan, and Drew Rivenbark. Honorary pallbearer was Jamie Hooper.

The family received friends from noon – 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at Red Marble Baptist Church.
