John Ted Hedrick, 89, went home to be with the Lord in the early morning on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021, at his son’s home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the son of the late Jasper and Mary Stewart Hedrick and a lifelong resident of the Snowbird community in Robbinsville, N.C. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son-in-law, Ronnie Jaynes; and his brother, Lennox Hedrick.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Hester Jenkins Hedrick; his son, Eric Hedrick (Wanda) of Lenoir City, Tenn.; daughters, Cindy Standridge (Jr.) of Lenoir City, Tenn., Edith Jaynes of Canton, Ga. and Denise Burke (Grant) of Robbinsville, N.C.; brothers, Diamond Hedrick of Asheville, N.C. and Lloyd Hedrick of Robbinsville, N.C.; and
sisters, Novella Hyde, Minnie Jo Watts, and Roma Atwell, all of Robbinsville, N.C.  

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rachael Roberts, Brooke Ford, Tommy Roberts, Shellie Vaughn, Erika Stull, Jake Hedrick, Lance Burke and Lacey Andrews; and 26 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, at the Carver Cemetery. Ted’s son-in-law, the Rev. Grant Burke, and his grandson, the Rev. Lance Burke, will officiate.
