John William Carswell, 77 of Robbinsville, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021.
A native of Burke County, N.C., he had resided in Graham County for over 40 years, and was the son of the late Ernest and Genevieve Carswell.
John loved gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He had worked in Law Enforcement for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Priscilla A. Carswell; one son, John William Carswell, Jr. of Robbinsville, N.C.; one daughter, Laura (Jeffrey) Pope of Jackson County, N.C.; one granddaughter, Shelby Davis; and one brother, Albert (Terri) Carswell.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church in Robbinsville, N.C., with the Rev. David Anderson officiating.
Appalachian Funeral Home in Sylva, N.C. is in charge of all services for John W. Carswell.
