Matthew Jason Moon, 37, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, Oct. 21, 2022.

He was the most loving, devoted father to Maddux Jordan Moon and Mattison Jasmine Moon. They were his entire world.

He fought a long, hard battle of cancer and survived. God found that this world was too much for him and decided it was his time to be called home.

He is survived by his children, Maddux and Mattison Moon and their mother, Melissa Moon; wife, Amanda Moon and stepdaughter Jaidyn LeQuire; parents, Don and Sheila Moon; brother, Dustin (Amy) Munn; sisters, Candace (Travis) Moose and Robin (Randy) Welch; many nieces, nephews and cousins; along with special friend, Steven “PeeWee” (Debra) Sawyer.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne and Lucinda Carver, and Roberta “Bert” Howard.

Matthew was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church. He loved God and had a wonderful relationship with Him and a strong faith.

Matthew had the brightest smile and the biggest heart; he made friends wherever he went. He was a very social and loving person. He loved to talk and get to know people. He made many friends during his journeys to Messino Cancer Center, as well as MD Anderson Cancer Center.

He had a dream to volunteer his time in helping others fight their battle with cancer and to share his story, fight and struggles of his journey, in order to encourage others.

His contagious smile and loving heart will never leave us empty. The love he shared with his children, family and friends was unimaginable.

He will be missed by so many. We truly have lost a wonderful man.
