Stecoah kicks off holiday season in Graham County
Stecoah – As the cold snap last week reminded us that Christmas is on the way, the annual Christmas in the Mountains Arts and Craft Show at the Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center rang in the season, sharing the Christmas spirit with the community and visitors alike.
The day began early: Breakfast with Santa, who joined boys and girls for pancakes, an ornament class and cookie decorating. The breakfast ended with a treat bag from Mrs. Claus. Local handmade crafts were available for purchase from over 20 artisans. Many participated in a scavenger hunt, having each vendor mark the Christmas in the Mountains map. Once the map was completed, the participants were given a choice of a snow globe kit or a wreath-making kit.
“The Christmas Arts and Craft Show is a great opportunity for people to drop by and enjoy a lovely, peaceful environment and support local artisans and small businesses,” said Stecoah employee Melinda DeHart.
