Robbinsville – After just one day of filing, four sheriff’s candidates had confirmed their 2022 campaigns.
Incumbent Jerry Crisp – who took over mid-term for former Graham County Sheriff Joseph Jones in July 2020 – officially filed to run Monday, as did former deputy Dennis Crisp, Leon Allen Jr. and Russell Moody.
Additionally, Cassie Phillips filed for the Graham County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday morning. Graham County Register of Deeds Kimberly Lequire – who stepped into the role when Carolyn Stewart retired in February – filed Monday, as did Graham County Clerk of Court Tammy Holloway.
The only Democrat to file thus far, Holloway has served as the county’s clerk of court since 2010 and worked in the office since 1994.
As of noon Tuesday, no one had filed for seats on the Graham County Board of Education. The filing period ends at noon Friday, Dec. 17.
