Robbinsville – A week-long investigation ended with the arrest of a local man.
Corbin Lee Nunez, 22, was booked into the Graham County Detention Center on Monday and charged with murder in the death of an 8-month-old female infant.
In a release sent to The Graham Star on Tuesday morning, the Graham County Sheriff’s Office noted that the investigation, which began Feb. 11, after an out-of-state medical facility notified the office of an alleged assault on the child – later identified as Lively Crue Colindres-Nunez – off Five Points Road in Robbinsville.
The infant tragically passed away at the unnamed medical facility from injuries sustained in the incident the following day, Feb. 12.
The Graham County Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigations Division collaborated with the Graham County Department of Social Services to look into the alleged assault before taking Nunez into custody Monday.
As of Tuesday morning, Nunez was still being held without bond.
