Meadow Branch – A Meadow Branch home burned to its foundation early Wednesday morning, June 1.
There were no injuries and no one was home, according to the Graham County Fire Department, but the house was a total loss. The cause of the fire is unknown.
Firefighters were called out at 6:09 a.m. to 1368 Meadow Branch Road. Heavy fire was coming from the home by the time firefighters arrived, but they were able to keep the blaze from spreading to trees surrounding the property and to buildings in the vicinity.
Units were dispatched from Station 1 in Robbinsville, Station 3 in Santeetlah, and Station 4 in Meadow Branch. In all, 12 firefighters and three emergency medical service personnel were dispatched, along with four fire engines and one ambulance.
The firefighters were on scene for about two hours.
Graham County tax records list the owners as Scott and Pamela Icenhower. The single story, 1,284-square-foot house was built in 1957 and had a tax value of about $30,000, not factoring current real estate values.
