Robbinsville – A small brush fire that threatened two structures was reported off Eller Branch Road on Nov. 21.
Firefighters with the Graham County Fire Department, N.C. Forest Service and U.S. Forest Service responded to the fire on Carey Drive, which was reported shortly after 4 p.m.
When firefighters reached the scene, the fire was within 50 feet of one home, with another structure nearby. N.C. Forest Service Ranger Frank Cline reported that the quick response of the fire department resulted in the fire being contained at less than one acre.
The fire was caused by debris burning that got out of control.
