Town lights Christmas tree
Robbinsville – The county seat kicked off the Christmas season Saturday with a Christmas tree lighting and other events on Main Street in Robbinsville.
Dozens of people showed up for the evening event, which included a live Nativity and Christmas music, with snacks and hot chocolate provided. Remarks were delivered by local pastors Daniel Stewart of Cedar Cliff Baptist Church and Eric Reece of Robbinsville United Methodist Church.
Children could write their letters to Santa and post them in a genuine U.S. Postal Service letterbox.
The event was organized by the Robbinsville Tourism Authority.
The tree is located at the corner of South Main and Ghormley streets. The lights were switched on by 8-year-old Robbinsville resident Quincy Rymer, who was dressed as one of Santa’s elves.
