Melvin Wachacha
Milltown – A West Buffalo man has been arrested after being caught with drugs, following a June 24 traffic stop.
A Graham County Sheriff’s deputy on patrol in the Long Creek and Milltown area observed a vehicle that appeared to not have a license plate. A traffic stop was conducted and after contact with the two occupants
of the vehicle, the deputy determined that there were reasonable grounds to request K-9 assistance.
In searching the vehicle, K-9 Sam alerted deputies to the presence of controlled substances in the vehicle, giving deputies probable cause to search the vehicle. In the subsequent search methamphetamine and marijuana were found.
Melvin Wachacha, 51, was found to be in possession of both substances and paraphernalia. He was charged for possession of the drugs and arrested.
The driver of the vehicle was cited with a traffic violation and subsequently released.
Wachacha has not yet appeared in court.
