Robbinsville – If you have ever wanted to ensure that every student at Robbinsville Elementary School would not have to go through the day without a meal, a newly established fund can make the hope a reality.
Former multi-sport Robbinsville High School athlete Dale Hill has collaborated with Graham County Schools to create the "Nan Hill Loves You Fund," which assists students at the elementary school with purchasing snacks, extra food or simply paying for meals as needed.
A Facebook post about the fund's launch reminisced about the impact "Nan" had on Graham County Schools.
"She was a beloved, faithful mother who raised him in a Christian home," the post reads. "The biggest fan for all Robbinsville High School varsity sports, proudly cheering every time 'Quickie Dale' made a touchdown, scored a basket (before 3-point plays were ever implemented) or broke a track record. Everyone would turn to see her reaction as she would proudly proclaim, 'That's my boy!'
"She was also one of the most caring, loving, giving and friendliest lunchroom workers at Robbinsville School."
Donations can be made in-person, at the Graham County Schools Central Office (52 Moose Branch Road), or to either Susie Orr (Nan's granddaughter) or Chelsey Hill (great-granddaughter); as well as on Venmo, @nanhillluvsu (enter code "7778").
