Robbinsville – Graham County Patrol Officer Justin Stewart was recognized Oct. 19 for completing courses pertaining to Driving While Impaired Task Force training.
Stewart completed three courses that took about 72 hours. He has been on patrol for the county sheriff’s office for two years. Prior to that, he worked in the Graham County Detention Center for a year.
“I am very thankful and fortunate to have been able to attend and complete the required trainings for the DWI Task Force,” said Stewart.
Present at the ceremony were WNC DWI Task Force Member Ellen Pitt; Graham County Sheriff Brad Hoxit; Assistant District Attorney Micheal Van Buren; and Lake Silver, field representative for NC-11 Congressman Chuck Edwards.
Stewart has been an efficient patrol officer, charging someone with a DWI offense the same evening of his ceremony.
“Within the last five months, I have investigated and processed up to six driving while impaired cases,” said Stewart.
Stewart has also investigated multiple other possible DWIs within the past five months.
