Robbinsville – Graham County Schools’ Bus 16 was involved in an accident Oct. 26, near the Black Knight Way/Rodney Orr Bypass (U.S. 129) intersection.
A farm tractor pulling a house trailer was left-of-center while the bus was stopped and about to turn into the high school.
The tractor kept going straight and the trailer wedged on the left side of the bus. It was not a hard impact.
The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. All 16 Robbinsville Elementary students and bus driver Pam Knott were safe.
The students were transported to the elementary school to reunite with their families.
The N.C. Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation.
Graham County Schools Superintendent Angie Knight told The Graham Star that she is thankful that there weren’t any injuries and that Knott was alert.
The damage was not significant, with just a few scratches that were repaired.
The bus was able to run its usual routes the following day.
