Robbinsville – Another search warrant was recently executed inside the Cheoah Mobile Home Park on Ford Street.
The Graham County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit raided a home at the back of the park July 28. Three arrests were made that night, but a return visit Sept. 26 proved more fruitful.
Graham County Sheriff Brad Hoxit said that 34-year-old Randy Dale Price, Jr., was arrested and charged with possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver methamphetamine; maintain place controlled substance; manufacture/sell/deliver/possess controlled substance within 500 feet of childcare center.
The latter charge is the most glaring, as Doodle Bug Daycare sits on an adjacent property to the mobile-home park. Directly behind the park is Wendy’s.
“Any residence that we find to be selling drugs within 1000 feet of a daycare or school will be charged additionally to the drug charges, which makes it a stiffer felony charge,” Hoxit vowed.
“The Graham County Sheriff’s Office and the Graham County Drug Enforcement Unit would like to thank the citizens of Graham County for their support and assistance in the effort to battle the war on drugs in our community.”
Hoxit added that “many items of interest” were found inside the residence amid the search, including a crystal-like substance that deputies on-the-scene suspected to be methamphetamine.
Repeat trips to the same locations because of suspected illegal activity is something Hoxit knows the public has noticed.
“We keep getting creditable information on these individuals,” Hoxit pointed out.
“That is the reason that we continue serving these search warrants; that is the reason we continue to find narcotics at those residences.
“If they continue to sell poison to people, we will continue issuing these warrants.”
