Robbinsville – The Robbinsville Tourism Authority discussed the upcoming Taylor Hicks concert in May at its Nov. 30 meeting.
Tickets will be available online soon. The intention – as of now – is to sell 800-1,000 online.
Admission will also be available the day of the concert – May 7 – at Modeal Walsh Memorial Stadium. A portion of ticket revenue will be donated to the High School band. Vendors will also be present at the concert.
Also discussed at the meeting was:
* “REVVED- UP” Christmas decorating contest, which has had an expansion in its budget, now totaling around $3,000. Additionally, the competition range has expanded from just inside the Robbinsville city limits to a 2-mile radius around the limits;
* Robbinsville’s annual Christmas parade will be Saturday at 6 p.m. The line for the parade will begin at Robbinsville High School at 4 p.m. The theme for this year is “Christmas Movies;”
* Saturday is also the “Hometown Holiday” event, which will be coupled with the Graham County Farmers Market from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Knight Street. No fee is needed to participate. Pictures with Santa will be from 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. and live music is set to be there, as well.
* Graham County Schools will also be hosting its second annual “Cookie Crawl,” from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Call (828) 479-9820 for more information.
