Robbinsville – Town leaders promoted Lamar Williams to replace Carrie Stewart to run the town’s water treatment plant.
The Board of Aldermen made the announcement after a closed session at Town Hall on April 21 to discuss the staffing situation. The Town of Fontana Dam hired Stewart away from the Town of Robbinsville as its operator-in-responsible charge, or ORC, at its April 20 meeting. Stewart has spent the last five years working as ORC at the Town of Robbinsville’s Long Creek water treatment plant, which employs five people. Fontana Dam has been without an official ORC since summer. Williams promotion to Robbinsville ORC was effective immediately.
Also at the April 21 meeting, the board selected RH CPAs to perform the town’s annual audit. RH CPAs was among several CPA firms to submit proposals to conduct the audit, which will cost the town $33,500, including audits of town hall and the Robbinsville Tourism Authority.
“We do need a different set of eyes to look at town business,” said Alderman Brian “Taco” Johnson.
Alderman Kenneth Hyde pointed out that RH CPAs was the most experienced firm vying for the town’s audit.
