Newlyweds reflect on 1st Valentine’s Day since tying the knot
Tallulah – Although this may not be the first Valentine’s Day that Wade and Kensley Hamilton have celebrated together, it does happen to be their first as man and wife.
In fact, the couple has spent five together. They agree that this one is indeed special, as it’s the first they celebrate as a married couple.
Their love story began in advanced physical education in high school. Wade confided in his best friend that he was interested and soon, he worked up the nerve to ask her out. Kensley was sports-minded and wasn’t interested in dating at the time, but Hamilton persisted. The two found that they had many things in common with sports being an important one.
They began a courtship that would last for three years.
It was unanimous when the couple was asked who was the first one to say, “I love you?”
“Wade,” they both agreed.
They shared proms, winter and spring formals, birthdays, and holidays. They enjoyed fishing trips, family vacations, sports, hanging out together, and just getting to know each other.
As with any couple, they have had their ups and downs – so who is the first to say they are sorry?
“Wade,” they both answered – again.
After three years of dating, they became engaged and married six months later.
Today, they are remodeling their home. They are also both entrepreneurs and have several businesses operating, which keeps them busy.
They know the importance of time together and make their relationship a priority.
They both have a strong faith in God. They attend Sweetgum Baptist Church and take part in many church activities, including working in Vacation Bible School and sporting events sponsored by the church.
So how will the Hamilton’s celebrate their first Valentine’s Day together as a married couple?
“We plan to go out and eat supper, and we are planning to get a new puppy for both of us,” Wade answered.
Dinner and a puppy – can it get any better than that?
