Crews locate lost man

Cherohala – A man was rescued Monday afternoon on the upper reaches of Huffman Creek, after making a wrong turn with his vehicle. 

Graham County 911 dispatchers were made aware of a man stuck in a rough place on a dirt road around 3:30 p.m Graham County Rescue Squad personnel – including some members from the Snowbird unit – responded to the call.  

Tory Lynnes reached the man – whose name was unavailable – around 4:45 p.m., followed shortly by Jack Jackson, Brenda Postell and Sierra Jones.

Lynnes said the man‘s vehicle was partially out of the road and that he understood that the man had been stuck there since sometime the day before. The man had thought that the road would take him to Tellico Plains in Tennessee. 

Lynnes pulled his vehicle back into the road and got him turned the correct direction by 5:10 p.m.
