Lake Santeetlah – Craig Keith tendered his resignation from the Lake Santeetlah Town Council on July 17.
In his resignation, Keith cited various factors as his reasoning for leaving the council.
“It is with a heavy heart that I am tendering my resignation from the town council,” the statement said. “The restrictions on travel, the quarantine guidelines and the need for my increasing involvement in our Department of Transportation contracts has made it increasingly difficult to dedicate the time needed to be a highly informed and capable council member. I will continue to be involved in whatever capacity would benefit the town and which I am able.
“I would like to thank those who have helped guide the town in a positive direction, and urge all to continue in the future to support and dutifully serve as a rudder of the direction of the council, the town and our great community.”
Keith just joined the council Dec. 9.
