Local man arrested for assault, kidnapping

Tallulah – A local resident was arrested Friday, after allegedly kidnapping and attempting to strangle a pregnant woman. 

According to documents from the Graham County Sheriff’s Office, Timothy Rebel Cable, 30, was arrested for charges of assault by strangulation, second-degree kidnapping and battery of an unborn child after allegedly kidnapping the victim and attempting to strangle her by squeezing her throat, leaving red marks. 

He was released from jail after posting a $2,500 bond on Monday. Cable’s court date has not yet been set. The assault and kidnapping charges are both felonies, while the battery charge is a misdemeanor. 

Under state law, second-degree kidnapping refers to a kidnapping situation where the victim is released without being seriously injured or sexually assaulted.
