Robbinsville – A four-day saga ended with the arrest of a local man.
Michael Shane Allen, 40, of 1361 Old U.S. 129, was still in the Graham County Jail on Tuesday in connection with the kidnapping of a woman on May 16.
Capt. Jerry Crisp with the Graham County Sheriff’s Office said Allen allegedly kidnapped and returned home with the victim, who escaped on May 19 and reported the crime. Allen was brought into custody that day.
Allen has been charged with first-degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault by strangulation and probation violation.
“It was a domestic situation that got out of hand,” Crisp added.
Allen’s initial appearance in court will be Monday, June 8.
