Robbinsville – Cell phone users in Graham County have waited months for the new 210-foot tower on Johns Road to go on-line.
But they will have to wait a bit longer.
Southern Towers, the company which built the structure and installed the equipment, is known to provide “quick and nimble solutions to difficult coverage or expansion issues.” The company is finished with their work at the tower.
“All work is finished at our end,” said Southern Tower Managing Partner Sean Caskie.
“It’s up to Verizon as to when service will actually be available.”
The tower is designed to hold equipment for any cell phone company that might want to rent space. The tower is also equipped for 5G.
With a range of four to five miles, the tower should greatly increase cell reception in Robbinsville and surrounding areas once Verizon brings the tower online.
