Robert Michael Phillips
Tallulah – A local man is once again behind bars, following allegedly being caught with meth after trying to escape a Graham County Sheriff’s Office detective.
On Jan. 20, 33-year-old Robert Michael Phillips was arrested after running away from Detective Andrew Bennett, who was attempting to serve Phillips with a warrant. Once in custody, he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, a felony.
He was charged with violation of a domestic protection order, possession of methamphetamine and resisting a public officer.
Phillips is no stranger to law enforcement, racking up a litany of charges – including possession of a weapon of mass destruction (a sawed-off shotgun) – after an arrest on
Nov. 10. He was also charged with two counts
of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, maintaining a dwelling house and possession of schedule I and schedule II substances in the November arrest.
