Suspect had child in car
Stecoah – A 28-year-old Robbinsville woman was arrested the night of March 1 and charged with both misdemeanor child abuse and driving while impaired.
Ciara Dockery Orr of 297 Hoot Owl Hollow was found on the side of N.C. 28 after a passing motorist called authorities about a vehicle sitting on the side of the road near Little Bear Lane. When Graham County sheriff’s deputies arrived, they found a white 2019 Volkswagen Jetta with a flat tire. During the discussion, authorities deemed it appropriate to issue a Breathalyzer test.
Orr blew a .19, which is more than double the legal limit of .08. A young child was also in the car. While the age of the youth was not disclosed, authorities still charged Orr for endangering the child.
Orr has a court date of Monday, April 27.
