Milltown – After overcoming a wave of 43 residents and 21 staff members testing positive for COVID-19 in August and September, Graham Healthcare & Rehabilitation has been hit with another outbreak.
Three staff members – all local residents – have tested positive, according to a release posted on the Graham County Health Department’s Facebook page Monday morning. An outbreak at a long-term care facility is identified when two or more individuals test positive within a 28-day period.
Graham County’s numbers began to increase at a rapid pace last month, but have tapered off in recent weeks.
The county had just 133 positive cases Sept. 22, but reported 168 just seven days later and 206 on Oct. 6, a jump of 73 new cases in two weeks.
As of Tuesday morning, Graham’s case count sat at 264, which is 93rd in the state.
