Snowbird – An Asheville man remains behind bars in Graham County, after allegedly breaking into at least two properties and stealing several items. 

Court documents show that 32-year-old Kristopher Carpenter allegedly entered a premises in the 60 block of Snowbird Road, damaging the fence in the process. While on the property, he operated a Telehandler reach forklift and allegedly carried away two Interstate batteries, valued at approximately $600. 

He also allegedly took copper wire valued at $233 from a different property and damaged a hydraulic press engine on the same property. The alleged offenses took place between Jan. 8 and Jan. 13, the date of his arrest. 

For his spree, Carpenter was charged with two felony counts of larceny after breaking and entering, plus first-degree trespassing, unauthorized use of motor vehicle and two counts of injury to personal property, all misdemeanors.
