Graham County’s 76.55-percent voter turnout for the 2020 general election ranked 8th out of the 17 western North Carolina counties.
The final data was affirmed at Friday’s Graham County Board of Elections meeting, which also included the announcement of voter turnout at the four polling locations, as well as early-voting:
* East Precinct, 1,300 ballots issued: 15 provisionals cast; five ballots spoiled; 379 used ballots; 901 unused.
* West Precinct, 1,100 ballots issued: 31 provisionals cast; three ballots spoiled; 382 used ballots; 684 unused.
* Stecoah Precinct, 900 ballots issued: 10 provisionals cast; three ballots spoiled; 295 used ballots; 592 unused.
* Tapoco Precinct, 325 ballots issued: Zero provisionals cast; one ballot spoiled; 119 used ballots; 205 unused.
* One-Stop Absentee, 5,000 ballots issued: Four provisionals cast; 46 ballots spoiled; two duplicates (which were corrected by election staff); 3,180 used ballots; 1,768 unused.
* Mail-In Absentee, 500 ballots on-hand: 467 requests; two military-overseas requests; 372 ballots returned; 97 not returned.
The final results also revealed that 80.5 percent of countywide ballots were cast for President Donald Trump, with President-Elect Joe Biden receiving 18.24 percent of Graham’s approval.
