Popular county resort gets reopening date
Fontana Dam – It has been a long five months, but Fontana Village Resort is finally ready to open its doors back up to the public.
In a release issued Saturday, the resort confirmed it would reopen Monday, ending a lengthy saga that started with a forced closure – the causality of Graham County shuttering all accommodations in March due to the COVID-19 outbreak – and included an ownership change, as Fontana Village LLC abandoned the lease and turned operational control over to the Tennessee Valley Authority.
The resort will be run by BCS Fontana LLC, which was formed on June 16. The new management will be spearheaded by an often-used TVA contractor, Chad Baker of Baker’s Construction Services in Bluff City, Tenn.
BCS Fontana will honor advance deposits that have already been applied to reservations, but will not be issuing refunds on any cancelled reservations. Gift cards will not be honored, and any questions about refund status will be directed to Fontana Village LLC, though contact information was not provided.
Fontana Resort’s General Store and Mountview Bistro will remain closed for the time being, with dining moving into the Wildwood Grill. The resort is still working with the Graham County Health Department about reopening the two pools at the resort.
To update or make a new reservation, the resort is fielding calls at either 498-2211 or 800-849-2258. You can also visit fontanavillage.com. The front desk will be operational 24 hours a day beginning Friday.
