Graham’s case count doubles

The numbers held steady for as long as they could.

Following a three-week stalemate, the Graham County Health Department confirmed the third positive case of COVID-19 in the county Saturday. The fourth case was then confirmed Monday afternoon.

As with the other cases, both patients have already been following the 14-day quarantine protocol, and officials have began contract tracing.

Graham became the 96th of 100 counties in North Carolina to confirm a case on April 26. The second positive announcement came just six days later, but Health Director Beth Booth confirmed that the first two were unrelated. As of Monday evening, only Camden and Madison (3), Avery (2) and Hyde (1) counties have less cases than Graham at the statewide level. Tyrrell County also had 4 cases.
