New data identifies gender, ages most impacted
Following the reveal that two nursing home employees tested positive for COVID-19, eight more residents were recorded positive in Graham last week, which included a resident at Graham Healthcare & Rehabilitation receiving a positive return Friday.
But as of Monday, the county still has the lowest number at the statewide level, with Madison’s 69 still double-digits ahead of Graham’s 57. Monday’s data also revealed that only four patients were under isolation and none were hospitalized.
The Graham County Department of Health and Human Services also released data charts Aug. 26, showing that 54 percent of positive tests were males and 40 percent were females. Six percent were marked as “unknown.”
The biggest age group to be affected in Graham County is the 25-49 demographic, which has returned 40 percent of the positive tests. Those between ages 50-64 made up 26 percent, while ages 65-74 were 20 percent of the positive data.
