Two men from out of state were arrested in Graham County after an alleged kidnapping, with their alleged victim also picking up a drug charge.
Warrants show that 34-year-old Mohammad Hassan Kheradmand of St. Petersburg, Fla. and 31-year-old Michael Bazarov of Washington, D.C. allegedly kidnapped 28-year-old Jeremy Dillan DeMoranville of Fairhaven, Mass.
The alleged incident took place on Sept. 16, with arrests taking place the following day.
Both Kheradmand and Bazarov were arrested on charges of second-degree kidnapping. Bazarov was allegedly found to have cocaine and charged with felony possession of cocaine on Sept. 17.
Under North Carolina law, second-degree kidnapping is defined as allegations that the defendants held or moved a person against their will for the purpose of holding them hostage, using them as a shield, terrorizing them or holding them for ransom.
In addition, DeMoranville was allegedly found to be in possession of THC isolate and charged with felony possession of a schedule IV controlled substance.
All three went before Graham County Magistrate Carissa A. Robinson, with Bazarov and DeMoranville due in court for their drug charges on Monday, Oct. 4.
As of Friday, all three men have bonded out of Graham County Jail.
