Timothy Marc Pollard
Santeetlah – A strange set of events on Aug. 12 led to a Robbinsville man being arrested and charged with five felonies.
Timothy Marc Pollard, 30, of 1312 Cochran’s Creek Road, was taken into custody on charges of first-degree forcible rape, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree force sex offense, two counts of sexual servitude adult victim, and breaking and/or entering.
Chief Deputy Dennis Crisp confirmed to The Graham Star on Tuesday morning that the victim – who will not be identified – met Pollard online and was solicited to come to Graham County. The victim arrived around 3:30 a.m. Aug. 12, and Pollard allegedly told her the two would return to his home, but instead drove her to an abandoned property on Santeetlah Dam Road.
Throughout the night, Pollard allegedly handcuffed and sexually assaulted the victim before leaving the property shortly after dawn. The victim was able to scream loudly enough to catch the attention of an individual passing by in a vehicle, who called police around 8:05 a.m. After authorities arrived, Pollard returned to the property, but was able to elude capture on the scene. A chase ensued on U.S. 129, with Pollard finally being captured on Yellow Creek Road.
Pollard is still in custody and is being held on separate $700,000 and $500,000 bonds.
