Tallulah – Employees, local management and upper-level representatives crowded outside Appalachian Mountain Health of Robbinsville on Monday, to hold a ribbon cutting signifying the conclusion of $1.3 million in upgrades to the former Tallulah Health Clinic.
Travelers and patients alike have undoubtedly noticed the work going on outside the long-standing facility at 409 Tallulah Road, much of which kept the left corner of the building inaccessible for parking due to construction. A major portion of the improvements went into the assembly of a new dental wing, which has four exam rooms and began seeing patients in July.
Adjacent to the dental area is an expanded physical therapy room, which provides more space and an additional room if needed. PT Solutions has been the provider for a number of years, but was recently absorbed by Harris Regional Hospital. Appalachian Mountain Health representatives said Monday that a physical therapist would be stationed on-site by the end of September.
Other upgrades include the growth of the public pharmacy, which had customers stopping in during Monday's festivities; improved office space for personnel across the building; and an overhaul to the staff break room.
The facility is open Monday-Friday, from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., and can be reached by calling 828-479-6434.
Based in Asheville, Appalachian Mountain Health also has offices in Murphy and Sylva.
