Hendersonville – The Robbinsville Black Knights ran afoul of some tough competition at the North Henderson Christmas Tournament.
A 73-27 loss to the hosting Knights on Friday was followed by a 71-28 loss at the hands of the Mitchell Mountaineers on Saturday. Robbinsville sits at 0-4 on the young season following the games.
The Black Knights fell behind 22-11 after the first quarter of the game against North Henderson and could not make up the ground lost, scoring a mere six points in the second.
Dalton Capps led Robbinsville with seven points in the North Henderson loss. Also scoring was Court Carpenter 5, Hunter Brooks 5, Blake Parker 2, Clayson Lane 2, Seth Lawson 2, Chris Wright 2, Carson Eller 2 and Brock Adams 2.
The defeat at the hands of Mitchell followed much of the same theme, with Robbinsville trailing 25-10 at the end of the first segment and only mustering a 2-point second quarter.
Carpenter, Bryce Teesateskie and Brooks each scored five points against the Mountaineers. Others scoring were Eller 4, Wright 3, Lawson 2, Drey Keener 2 and Adams 2.
