Robbinsville – Another successful week of Robbinsville High School wrestling was capped off by a strong showing in the Smoky Mountain Conference opener Tuesday night.
The Black Knights welcomed Cherokee in the 2019 division debut and by way of forfeits and pins, cruised to a 72-9 win over the Braves.
The only bouts of the evening featured Case Beasley (113 pounds) winning a bout over Jacob Norton via referee stoppage, Willie Riddle (138) scoring a third-period pin over John Bradley, Jacob Hall (152) dropping a bout by decision to Darius Saunooke, Kyle Fink (195) pinning Ian Crowe in the third period and Jacob Teesateskie (heavyweight) falling via pin to Masih Catolster. Robbinsville otherwise got the nod by forfeit.
There was no shortage of opposition for the Knights at the two-day Falcon Frenzy, which was held Friday and Saturday at West Henderson.
When the dust settled, Fink won the 195-pound bracket, while Luke Wilson (106) finished second in his weight class.
Hall claimed fifth-place, while both Jayden Nowell (126) and Jaret Panama (170) took sixth. As a team, Robbinsville finished eighth in the tournament.
