Cherokee – In what proved to be the only action Robbinsville would see last week, the Black Knights took care of business.
The first road match of the season netted positive results for the Lady Knights (3-1, 2-1), who traveled to Cherokee and brought home a 25-13, 25-20, 25-9 sweep over the Lady Braves (0-5, 0-5).
Robbinsville was set to travel to Swain on Monday, but the threat of inclement weather pushed the match back to Friday. The Lady Knights will host Andrews today.
JV, middle school
The first two matches of Robbinsville’s trek to Cherokee produced a mixed bag of results.
The middle school Lady Knights (1-3) fell to the Lady Braves in three sets, 25-15, 14-25, 12-15, before Robbinsville’s junior varsity (1-2) picked up its first win of the season in another three-set contest, 15-25, 25-20, 15-6.
