Cullowhee – Sweeps over Cullowhee Valley on Dec. 5 and Martins Creek on Monday have both Robbinsville Middle School basketball teams proudly touting a 5-1 record for the season.
The Lady Knights defeated the Lady Rebels 38-23 on Dec. 5, while the Black Knights took care of the Rebels in a 54-41 win.
In the girls win over Cullowhee Valley, Claire Barlow’s 10 points led the Lady Knights’ scoreline. Also scoring was Zoie Shuler 8, Liz Carpenter 8, Karlee Stewart, Abby Wehr 4, Aubrie Wachacha 2 and Memory Frapp 2.
Donovan Carpenter put up a team-high 15 points in the game against the Rebels. Others to score were Bryce Adams 13, Xander Wachacha 10, Hugh Forbes 5, Tytan Teesateskie 3, Austin Collangelo 3, Luke Lovin 2, Quinn Jumper 2, Roman Jones 1.
Final scores and stats from Monday’s games at Martins Creek were not received by Wednesday’s press deadline.
