As the 2020-21 N.C. High School Athletic Association volleyball season concluded Saturday, the Smoky Mountain Conference has released its list of All-Conference players.
Included in the lineup was Robbinsville sophomore Kensley Phillips and junior Yeika Jimenez – who both received All-Conference recognition – as well as junior Ally Ayers, senior Gabby Hooper and freshman Delaney Brooms, who were each named an honorable mention.
Phillips finished the year with 114 kills, 18 aces and eight assists, while leading the Lady Knights’ back-row defense with 227 digs. Jimenez’s 129 kills led Robbinsville’s front-line attack, but she also tallied 12 blocks, 10 aces, and five assists over the course of the campaign.
As Robbinsville’s main setter, Ayers had 336 assists to her credit this year, while also posting 86 digs, 17 kills, nine aces and two blocks. Playing the role of libero, Hooper finished the campaign with 147 digs, 30 assists, 16 aces, and eight kills. Brooms’ first varsity season consisted of 188 digs, 116 kills, 12 aces, eight assists and four blocks.
The Lady Knights went 10-4 (8-4 in conference play) in 2020-21.
