Robbinsville – Over halfway through the season, the Robbinsville Lady Knights are holding steadily to a run of dominance.
Only twice this year have the Lady Knights (11-0) been pushed to five sets, with the latest opponents Robbinsville has taken down including a 25-20, 25-16, 23-25, 25-18 win at Rosman (5-4) on Sept. 12, a 29-27, 25-9, 23-25, 25-18 victory against Smoky Mountain (4-8) at home Monday and a 25-15, 25-17, 25-8 home sweep against Swain County (8-4) on Tuesday.
The triumph against Rosman featured Gabby Hooper recording a team-best three aces, Karlyn Matheson striking for 18 kills, both Yeika Jimenez and Karcee Dooley posting three blocks apiece, Kennedy Cable tallying 33 digs and Liz Ayers accumulating 35 assists.
Stats against Smoky Mountain and Swain were not available by The Graham Star’s press deadline.
Junior varsity
Robbinsville (2-7) fell 22-25, 13-25 in junior varsity play at Rosman, while dropping a match to Smoky Mountain and facing Swain County on Tuesday night. Scores for the Tuesday match were not received by press time.
Middle school
The Lady Knights (0-6) were bested at Rosman 20-25, 14-25, before returning home Tuesday for a match with Swain County.
