Third in a series
Robbinsville – “This kind of work releases those good endorphins,” said Gail Wiggins, who co-owns florist shop Full Bloom Too in downtown Robbinsville, along with Marg Lewis.
“It helps take your mind off your other work and gives you an outlet for your creativity,” said Lewis.
“We also love doing weddings,” said Wiggins. “We love making everyone feel special.”
Both owners hold
other jobs, but Lewis said that running a florist shop gives them a chance to “make people happy and help people feel a little better in times of sorrow. They appreciate it and
they tell you they appreciate it.”
The most popular product at Full Bloom Too is fresh flowers – artfully arranged – but owners Gail Wiggins and Marg Lewis also offer silk flowers, seasonal decor and gifts.
“You’d think three florists in a town this small would be too much, but we have great relationship with the other two florists in town,” said Lewis. “We love them too and help each other out.”
As the new florists in town – the shop itself has been open since 2011 – Wiggins learned the craft of floral arrangement while working at another shop in Andrews, while Lewis took classes at Tri-County Community College. Their “backbone” is employee Greg Prince, who “holds it all together.”
The shop currently offers a variety of fine Christmas ornaments and seasonal decor. Wiggins and Lewis plan to include more non-seasonal gifts, such as the Walton Wood Farm products already on the shelves.
The shop also participates in community projects such as Trunk or Treat, support groups and fundraisers for the school and rescue squad.
“We like to stay involved in the community,” said Lewis. This includes offering local crafters room to display their wares, which are then sold on commission.
The shop also has a monthly window contest for a $25 gift certificate. The challenge is identifying the song lyrics posted on the glass of the shop’s front window.
