Bryce Adams
The All-Smoky Mountain Conference football team includes several Robbinsville Black Knights.
Bryce Adams (quarterback), Isiac Collins (linebacker), Tanner Hedden (secondary), Quinn Jumper (defensive lineman) and Tytan Teesateskie (offensive lineman) each made the annual roll call; while Kasen Buchanan (defensive lineman), Angel Cervantes, Collins (tight end), Hedden (linebacker), Darion Ledbetter and Luke Lovin (secondary) all received an honorable mention.
As Robbinsville’s gunslinger, Adams threw for 1,313 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, completing 82-of-169 passes. He finishes his Knights career with 1,934 passing yards and 17 TDs, recording 121 completions on 232 attempts for a .522 completion rate.
One of several two-way players on the list, Collins was a dangerous threat no matter which side of the ball he was on. Collins led the Black Knights with 112 tackles (62 solo) and also had both a fumble recovery and an interception.
Offensively, he amassed 124 rushing yards on 30 carries and reeled in 201 receiving yards on seven catches. Collins had a pair of touchdowns each from both the backfield and the receiving core.
Hedden gritted his way through a lingering knee injury to drop 68 players on defense, which included 46 solo tackles, and scooped up a pair of fumbles. He capped his Robbinsville career with 137 tackles; 86 were a solo effort.
Continuing the Knights’ solid defensive effort, Jumper had 60 tackles (37 solo), plus three sacks, two fumble recoveries and an interception. Another senior, Jumper racked up 214 tackles during his varsity career – 110 of those were solo – and dropped the opponent’s quarterback for a loss on 12 different occasions.
Rounding out the All-Conference list, Teesateskie combated a long-standing knee injury to record 71 tackles (43 solo) during his senior year. He also posted two sacks in 2024.
Cervantes proved to be a wonderful addition to Robbinsville in 2024, as he brought some consistency to the Knights’ special teams following a brief period of instability. In 13 appearances, Cervantes went 26-of-35 on extra points (70%) and also made a 27-yard field goal.
Ledbetter took charge at wide receiver, snagging 39 passes for 549 yards (both team highs) and scoring on two catches. He also rushed for 265 yards on 42 attempts, finding the end zone three times.
For his career, Ledbetter finishes with 1,135 receiving yards, 74 receptions and five touchdowns. Buchanan had 51 tackles (33 solo) and a fumble recovery this season, while Lovin tallied 33 tackles (23 solo) and an interception.
Robbinsville overcame a 1-4 start in non-conference action to finish 4-1 (second) in league play.
The Black Knights then rode the wave of a No. 11 seed in the playoffs to a third-round appearance, posting an overall mark of 7-7.
