Zoie Shuler, All-Conference; Player of the Year
A 24-win season and the program’s second trip to the Western Regional Finals resulted in the Robbinsville Lady Knights nabbing top honors when the All-Smoky Mountain Conference lineup was revealed at the end of the season.
Seniors Memory Frapp and Zoie Shuler were named All-Conference, as were Presley Caylor, Sophie Roberts, Naomi Taylor and Suri Watty. Liz Carpenter and Anna Williams both received honorable mentions.
Shuler also collected her third conference Player of the Year distinction in 2024, slashing .593 at the plate with 11 home runs and 31 RBI. She also stole 44 bases this season and broke the single-season state record for all classifications in runs scored, trotting across the plate 68 times.
Shuler also had 14 extra-base hits, divided evenly between doubles and triples.
Committed to the University of Tennessee, Shuler’s time in a Robbinsville uniform concludes with a .568 average, plus new Lady Knights’ records in career homers (31), stolen bases (117) and RBI (123).
Frapp has been Robbinsville’s ace since joining the varsity ranks. She has plenty to hang her hat on as she exits the Lady Knights, including two designations as the division’s Pitcher of the Year and setting a new program standard for career strikeouts (390).
She went 14-2 in 2024, posting a 2.32 ERA and 99 strikeouts; career-wise, she was 49-9, with a 2.11 ERA.
Frapp also tossed three no-hitters while making deliveries for Robbinsville.
At the plate, Frapp proved to be a dangerous bat: she had a .388 mark in 2024, crushing five homers and driving in 30. In her career, she provided 16 home runs, 98 RBI and a .444 average.
The remaining ¾ of Robbinsville’s All-Conference nods will be back next season.
Caylor is the only freshman Lady Knight in the mix, but impressed in her debut at the varsity level. Aside from providing pitching depth – she was 2-1 this season, with a 3.97 ERA and 14 strikeouts – Caylor batted .359, with one home run and 16 RBI.
Roberts made the most of her debut campaign at Robbinsville. The sophomore catcher/designated player unleashed a .440 mark in 2024, tying Shuler for the single-season record in home runs for the Knights (11) and ushering in 41 RBI, which led the team.
Much like Caylor, Taylor also served a dual role as infielder/pitcher and finished with a fine 8-1 record inside the circle, tallying a 2.80 ERA and fanning 45 batters.
She had a 3-homer game against A.C. Reynolds on April 10, ultimately stamping a .365 average and 18 RBI.
Watty manned second base in 2024. She made a name for herself as a clutch hitter, mashing a .415 average with 10 doubles and 39 RBI.
Carpenter and Williams took care of respective right and center-field duties for the Knights. Carpenter had a .310 average, five doubles and 12 RBI; Williams posted a .282 mark, with three home runs, four doubles, two triples and 18 RBI.
She also had the second-highest amount of stolen bases, swiping 17 bags.
The Robbinsville Lady Knights went 24-4 this year, clinching their 16th Smoky Mountain Conference championship in the process.
