Cherokee – The only opposition that stood in the way of Robbinsville last week was swiftly toppled.
The Black Knights (13-3) traveled to Cherokee for a conference dual May 26 and between a litany of forfeits and four pinfall victories, thwarted the Braves’ hopes in an 84-0 win.
Aynsley Fink pinned Jaylynne Esquivel in a 113-pound bout, while Jaret Panama (152 pounds) downed Kaden Trantham. Wade Hamilton (160) secured a pin against Braden Taylor and Kyle Fink (195) made quick work of Ian Crowe.
Otherwise, the bouts went to Robbinsville via forfeit.
Getting their hands raised were Luke Wilson (106), Alexis Panama (120), Jayden Nowell (126), Case Beasley (132), Rylee Patterson (138), Willie Riddle (145), Bruce Helms (170), Ben Wachacha (220) and Carlos Wesley (285).
A 182-pound bout between Kage Williams and Chase Calhoun was stopped and ruled an injury forfeit in the second period.
